Real Habits and customs in Horsens

3 Mai 2013 , Rédigé par Alix Publié dans #Habits

The first blog article about habits and customs in Denmark was posted since France.

So we can add some information about this topic.

Firstly, it’s true that Danes don’t cross the road when the light is red, even if traffic light is red for car …They don’t made comments when you cross the road with red light but they look at you.

Secondly, it’s false that Danes give a hug to say hello. But they are very polite; they can help you if you’re lost, or if you need some help. For example, when we were in Copenhagen, we searched the little mermaid with our map and a Dane saw we were in difficulty and helped us by indicating the path. But some Danes are very distant and silent in the streets. Thomas and I are surprised to see Danish couples because they don’t speak to each other and there is a distance between them... So strange…

Thirdly, there no homeless who panhandle or sit on the ground in the streets. Because they want to keep their pride and they don’t want people to take pity on them. But if you pay attention when you go out, you can see some people walking always in the same place all days..
